The Donna Louise is a charity and organisation who help families who have a disabled child or children. They can be seen as a helping hand. Their motto best describes what they are about. ''whatever our children, young people or families need. The Donna Louise is there. wherever, whenever and always''.

They offer a variety of family support which can be a great stress relief to families who find it difficult to find time to arrange outings and activities for their children. In terms of activities they offer:

  •  bubble tubes, ultra violet light and fibre optics.

  • They provide story time for the younger children.

  •  tactile toys and music.

  • Messy play, which helps the children meet and make new friends. They have items  such as  spaghetti, gloop, shaving foam and jelly.

WHAT THEY PROVIDE

The Donna Louise provide a selection of services that promise to help families have full support for their children. Services include: symptom managements, care co-ordination, social work support and end of life care. I was lucky to understand the compassion and commitment that the staff and volunteers have for the families and children at the Dona Louise. I interviewed a women named Sabyrna Porter who explains what The Donna Louise do, along with how she helped The organisation herself. The Mp4 clip explains in greater detail how much of an accomplishment this charity is.
